III INTERNATIONAL ECOTOURISM WORKSHOP ECOTUR-2000
The Organizing Committee, the Research Group for Tourism, the Ministry of Science,
Technolgy and Environment, sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Gaviota Tourism
Group and other Cuban scientific and cultural organizations, are calling all specialists, managers
of protected areas, TTOO, Travel Agencies and any other interested in these thematics, to
participate in the III International Ecotourism Workshop ECOTUR-2000 which will be held in
Pinares de Mayarí, Holguín, Cuba from November 22 to 26, 1999.
The goal of this workshop is to promote conservation and rational use of nature resources in
order to achieve sustainable development minimizing the negative impact on environment and
the community.
Main Topics
- Natural and Ecologic Potential. Protected Areas and Tourism. Management Plans, Territorial
Planning and Environmental Education.
- History, Culture, Architecture and Community: Involvement in Ecotourism Development
- Upgrading of specialized personnel and education of communities to assimilate Ecotourism
Development.
- Ways of development, promotion and marketing of Ecotouristic Products.
Presentation of Papers
Papers must be presented in Abstract form. Page format 8½ x 11 in.
