Yes, please - an excellent objective. We've taken over and are
planning to reactivate ecotourism at the Rio Palenque Field Station in
     Western Ecuador.

Greetings all.

A quick note to inform those interested that a proposal to develop a
'Positive Impact Tourism' Network has been written and is currently being
circulated for comment.

In a nutshell, the aim is to establish a network that links
tourists/travellers to communities, NGOs and other organisations involved
in sustainable community development and environmental restoration
projects.

The intention of doing so is to promote an increased awareness among
tourists of the possibility of making POSITIVE impacts while they travel
(not merely low impact) and to encourage a greater level of such inputs. It
is envisaged that such a network will enhance the efforts of those working
for a sustainable future and facilitate more satisfying travel experiences.
This proposal is likely to overlap with a number of related initiatives and
programmes and has already attracted some support from these quarters.

The proposal is a draft for discussion at this stage and I am seeking any
assistance in the form of indications of support, ideas, constructive
criticism etc.

If you would like a copy (electronically only at this stage), let me know.

Yours sustainably,
AD
