Writer's Guidelines for Planeta.com
Care to share your knowledge about environmental issues and/or
eco travel in the Americas? The Planeta.com website (http://www.planeta.com)
accepts a variety of articles from short practical guides to longer academic
work.
Please become familiar with the topics covered on this site - examples of
some of the best articles are listed below. Submissions via email are
the easiest to handle. We accept documents in English or Spanish.
Currently, we are soliciting two types of materials:
1.Short 500-1,000 word articles
2.Longer academic works
1) Shorter articles are generally written in the first person, and
usually identify the advantages or problems of environmental tourism
in the Americas. These articles are geared to the general public and
help introduce Latin America to a wider audience.
Hints: Weave your experience with your knowledge of a specific
issue. The style can be informal, but it must be clear to the general
reader. Introduce yourself and explain why you're interested in the
topic.

2) Longer works are dissertations, theses, and materials of interest
to specialists or scholars. What's the point of the internet if we do not
make space for these kinds of materials? Academic works deserve to
be more accessible - this helps avoid duplication of research and
makes the data available to anyone interested in the topic.

There is no charge for posting materials online. Authors receive full
credit for their work as well as contact information (including an email
hyperlink and/or a link to another website) so that readers can contact
them directly.
Technical Specifications: You are dealing with an editor who is a
curmudgeon on the cutting edge. It's best to send materials in a
text-only (solo texto) format. I use Word 5.0, so please do not send
materials in 6.0. If you can, send in Word 5.0 for Macintosh. We
don't use many photos or graphics - if you do have them, let me know
first before sending. Then make sure they are in jpeg or gif format and
smaller than 20K.
