INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON NEW DIRECTIONS IN MANAGEMENT
CAPACITY-BUILDING FOR SUSTAINABLE COASTAL AND OCEAN
MANAGEMENT IN THE WIDER CARIBBEAN
Havana, Cuba July 7-10 1998
1998 has been designated by the United Nations as the International Year
of the Ocean. As part of the celebratory activities to focus attention
on the importance of coasts and oceans, the International Workshop on
New Directions in Management Capacity-Building for Sustainable Coastal
and Ocean Management in the Wider Caribbean will be convened in Havana,
Cuba, between 7-10 July 1998. The Workshop is being jointly convened
by the National Oceanographic Commission of Cuba, the Centre for Marine
Research (University of Havana), and the Oceans Institute of
Canada/Institut Canadien des oc=E9ans (OIC), with the support of the CIDA
Sustainable Oceans Governance Program and the International Development
Research Centre.
